Re-position, rebrand? Either way, it’s been a blast! Meeting with Ella of Eden Valley Creative was the start of this journey to the next level. Thanks to the Chamber of commerce for the introduction. Once we met we knew it was time for a change, a big change! I prefer it to be a Re-position of the business with new style packaging and a new website! We also looked at the contents of the curry spice kit which are all initially Vegan/Vegetarian also Gluten-free. We don’t add salt or sugar to the curry spice kits either we leave it to you to choose your seasoning.
We looked at the recipe selection and actually the names of the curry spice kits. Often by default, they were named after specific dishes e.g. Chicken Madras! In fact, our Madras curry spices are a perfect match for vegetables and even fish; the curry spice kit is now simply known as Madras and the option for the ingredients is listed in the curry recipe inside the kit. This is the same for most of the kits although some are still known by their original names, such as Chickpea curry or Masala Dal.
In the same way as the vegetarian curry spice kits, we note that they are also suitable for Vegan curries. Some with small changes to the ingredients we suggest you add and again some are perfect stand-alone vegan spice kits, like the chickpea curry spice kit where, in addition to the spices, your other ingredients look like this: 2 large Onions, peeled and roughly chopped,3 garlic cloves, peeled, 20g ginger, peeled, 3 tbsp oil, 800g tinned chickpeas, 400g tinned chopped tomatoes, 1 tbsp tomato puree, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp brown sugar, a handful of fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped. This will make you an extremely tasty Vegan curry, half the cost of a takeaway and probably made at home quicker than an order. Moreover, you know what’s in it!
